The 21st Century Leadership Skills Program is funded by through a grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Laura Bush 21st Century Library Program.

Through the 21st CLS Program, SLIS Indianapolis take a 6-credit leadership skills program: 3-credit internship and 3-credit online leadership skills development course. Tuition is fully paid, and students receive a $4,000 stipend for their participation, plus up to $3,500 for conference travel. 21st CLS Program students have opportunities to focus very deliberately on their own leadership skills development, and develop marketable, tangible skills for succeeding in the emerging 21st century workplace.

• 3-credit on-site library internship (180 hours; tuition paid by 21st CLS Program)
• 3-credit online leadership skills course (tuition paid by 21st CLS Program)
• $4,000.00 student stipend (direct to student)
• $2,500.00+ travel stipend

Requirements for Participation:

• Current IUPUI MLS students are eligible
• Internships are available in all library types: public, school media, academic, health sciences, law, special, museums and others
• Applicants must have completed 18 credits of the Indianapolis MLS program
• Applicants must have maintained a 3.2 or higher GPA here at SLIS
• Apply for any one semester: spring, summer or fall 2011
